BBC at the Quay

BBC at the Quay

On Wednesday 3rd June we were delighted to perform at BBC at the Quay. It was a fantastic outdoor stage built specifically for the new festival which was held right outside BBC Scotland in Glasgow. The day started with a rather chilly soundcheck. Then Claire and Tina went on to do an interview with Linda Macleod for BBC Alba. The girls were asked all sorts of questions about the band. We’ll keep you posted when it will be broadcast.

The chilly breeze calmed down for the gig at night and the weather was fantastic for it. We were playing at the same time as the lovely sunset. We performed alongside some fantastic Scottish musicians and bands. First up were Dàimh, followed by a set from us, then Finlay MacDonald and Ross Martin, RURA and the Maeve MacKinnon Band.

The night was filmed for BBC Alba and it’s still available to watch on iPlayer for a few more weeks;

Here’s some photos from the gig (stage photos by Sean Purser).

Royal Highland Show 2015

We’re excited to be performing at the Royal Highland Show again this year. We’ve even made it into The Scottish Farmer!

We have a number of performance slots throughout the day at the show on Thursday 18th and Friday 19th June. Fingers crossed for lovely weather again like last year. Come listen and say hello to us if you have the chance.

Here’s some pictures from last year’s show.

New band videos

Hello everyone!

We were busy this weekend making a video of us performing live. Here is our version of Ramlin’ Rover by Silly Wizard.

We hope you enjoy it!

EP Launch & Celtic Connections

We were very excited to have our EP launch in Glasgow on 25th February. It took place at Folklub in the Admiral Bar and was a joint EP launch with The Lowground who were fantastic.

The night started off with a lovely support set from Gnoss, a duo from Orkney who won a Danny Kyle title at this year’s Celtic Connections. The Lowground were up next with a combination of concertina, guitar, whistle, flute and bodhrán sets from the trio.

We finished off the night with a 45 min set which we really enjoyed. If you didn’t manage to get your hands on our EP on the night then don’t worry – you can order them from our website. Just visit our shop.

The Admiral is a lovely venue to play in and it was a pleasure to play as part of Folklub. Have a like of the Folklub page and go and support live music. The next one is April 25th at Stereo in Glasgow with an album launch from fantastic band RURA.

Celtic Connections

In January we enjoyed playing a set at the Late Night Sessions at Celtic Connections. This took place in the concert hall in Glasgow. Here’s a wee picture from the night (photo by Sean Purser):
