January was a busy month for us. We were packaging up all the CDs for our Kickstarter backers and pre-oders. Here’s a picture of Heather and Claire signing the CDs with help from Heather’s dog Gypsy.
In between singing CDs and addressing envelopes we were rehearsing for our album launch which took place at Celtic Connections on Saturday 28th January. It was fantastic to have Tia Files, who played percussion on the album, join us for the launch. We were over the moon with how the night went. The venue, St Andrew’s In The Square, was full. It was great to see so many people there and thank you all for making it such a good night.
On Thursday 26th January we performed at the Showcase Scotland reception for Celtic Connections. This took place in the Drygate Brewery which is a great wee venue to perform in. We were nominees in the Up & Coming artist category at the 2016 MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards, and we were performing alongside all the other Up & Coming nominees at the reception.
Following the reception we had a stall at the Showcase Scotland Trade Fair which took place in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Friday 27th. It was lovely to meet so many delegates from different festivals, magazines, radios, etc. Here’s a picture of Tina and Heather manning the stall. Check out Heather’s amazing home baking!
In other news, tickets are now on sale for our album launch in Tina’s hometown of Clitheroe, Lancashire. We will have fantastic local musician Jordan Ferguson supporting us. It’s sure to be a brilliant night.
